Apple Sauce

Make as much or as little as you like.
I tend to make huge batches for the freezer in the autumn from the apples gifted from freinds and family. I will use these for various things throughout the year, a side for Pork roast or in my morning porridge with a drizzle of maple syrup.

Ingredients:

Bramley apples (I sometimes mix bramleys with older apples from the fruit bowl)
Brown Sugar
Water
Lemon Juice

Method:

Peel, core and slice the apples. Place the apples into a large bowl of cold water with some lemon juice to prevent browning as you prepare the rest of the apples.

Once all the apples have been prepared place into a deep saucpan with a enough water to just cover the bottom on the pan to prevent sticking. Gently heat these until all the apples have broken down. Add sugar at this stage and taste mixture. Once all apples are soft and sauce like and teh sweetness is to your liking its ready.

Leave to cool then bag up for the freezer. I put mine in zip close bags and lay flat in the freezer.
